Which Software is used to create Visual Effects ?

                               SOFTWARE USE TO CREATE VFX 

There is no single software which is used to create the visual effects . There are different        softwares which    are used for performing different  tasks.

First of all you must know the various arenas of VFX industry. These are listed below :

1. Modelling

2. Texturing and Lightning

3. Rigging

4. Animation

5. Compositing

These above listed are the core areas and a variety of different softwares are used for each .

1. Modelling

You all must have seen animated movies like Toy story , Lion king etc. in which you have several character . Under this department the character are created in a 3D space in the computer.

This is a 3d model of a plane which is created in this 3d software.

The Softwares used for 3D Modelling are :

1. Autodesk Maya

2.Autodesk 3ds Max

3. Blender

4.Cinema 4D

2. Texturing 

This involves adding required textures to your 3d model. Texture simply is an image file which is imported and added on model. It is like a skin for model. 

These are mainly created in photoshop.

3. Rigging

Now as your 3d model is ready it has to be animated , but before animation you have to create a rig i.e skeleton so that you can move each indivisual part using it.

From above eg you can see that now each finger can be animated using the skeleton. So creating the skeleton part comes under rigging.

This process is done in 3d Modelling sofwares itself.
